EAA Chapter 1099 is dedicated to the promotion of General Aviation, Aircraft Homebuilding and Aviation Safety in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. We meet at 7:00 PM on the first Tuesday of every month.

CarolAnn Garrett has set multiple records in distance flying, going around the world three times to raise money and awareness to fight ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

In 2011, flying a J-model Mooney, her earth-rounding flight took 11 months with visits to over 35 countries including Madagascar, Jordan, Egypt, Thailand, Israel, Cambodia, Australia, and New Zealand. Her presentation will recap this flight, with lot's of photos and stories of this exciting journey.

CarolAnn is an EAA member and homebuilder, having completed a RANS S-7S. She has amassed over 5,000 hours in her flying career, including 300 Young Eagles and many Angel Flights.
